Our Vision and Mission
The Unity Church of Omaha joins with the International Association of Unity Churches in holding the following vision for all people:
Centered in God, we co-create a world that works for all.
The members of the Unity Church of Omaha chose to be accountable for the fulfillment of that vision to ourselves, to each other, to people in the world and to God. Those accountabilities are stated in our mission:
To support and facilitate the spiritual transformation of as many people as possible by providing Unity based education, enrichment and other services and to care for each other by encouraging every member of our congregation to engage in related spiritual and other activities that help co-create a world that works for all.

June 1st - A Life of Prayer
Beginning Sunday, June 1st Sunday’s 12:30 to 2:30 p.m.
5-week Unity Institute Spiritual Education and Enrichment (S.E.E.) Credit Course
Shari Sterenberg, Licensed Unity Teacher
As a student, you’ll develop a daily prayer journal and create a prayer credo – a personal statement of your beliefs about prayer. And when you finish the course, you’ll be able to:
- Practice Centering Prayer as a means to “enter the silence.”
- Compare and contrast traditional prayer methods with the Unity method of affirmative prayer and with your own way of praying.
- Write a Daily Word® message.
June 10th - Mastering Life’s Energies: Living a Life Filled With Luminous Moments
Book Study - Tuesdays 7-9p.m. June 10 – July 15
We all yearn to take ideas that excite us and accomplish them through action. We know, on some level, that the ideas we find the most exhilarating are an essential part of us, in a very real way, they are us. Luminous moments occur when you generate something important from inside yourself and make it real in the physical world. Our lives are shaped by the questions that interest us.
- What is the question to which your life is the answer?
- Are you willing to live your life with clarity, focus, ease and grace?
In this book study, you will learn to achieve clarity, strengthen focus, enjoy ease, and cultivate grace. You need only bring with you a desire to identify and attain your dreams and goals---along with pen, paper, and a few three-by-five cards.
Cost: Suggested Love Offering--$14.00 per session. Each participant needs a copy of Mastering Life’s Energies by Maria Nemeth. The book is available from the Many Paths Bookstore, Unity Church of Omaha.
Facilitated by: Coach Penny Kowal PhD, ACC Certified Life and Organizational Coach. Penny H. Kowal PhD, ACC is a certified life and organizational coach as well as a licensed seminar leader. Her coaching training is through the Academy for Coaching Excellence, Sacramento, CA, accredited through the International Coach Federation. Penny was mentored by Dr. Maria Nemeth as well as Rev Beth Ann Suggs and Rev Wayne Manning.

Unity Member receives honor
The Association of Unity Churches Int. and Unity School of Christianity have made the commitment to seek academic accreditation. They have chosen the name Unity Institute, which will, in the near future, become a separate entity.
Longtime Unity member, Penny Kowal has received the honor of being appointed to the first Advisory Board. We congratulate Penny and send her our appreciation for the contribution she is making to the whole Unity movement. Namaste Penny!
"Change for Change"
Project
The Outreach Team asks you to drop your spare coins in the container found on the round table outside the sanctuary. Your change will make a change in Mozambique through Amy Gillespie's outreach work. Together we will be the change that
changes the world - one person at a time. The total accumulated through November 5, 2007 is
$557.31. The project, collecting money for AID’s orphans in Mozambique, continues. Your generosity is appreciated.
